A novel concept for the deflection of rotating asteroids is presented, based on conversion asteroid rotational kinetic energy into translational energy. Such achieved using an orbital siphon, a tether-connected chain masses, arranged vertically from surface, which exploits rotation delivery mass to escape. Under conditions be discussed, siphon can initiated ensure self-sustained flow This mechanism proposed use fraction as reaction mass, with leveraged deliver escape, and hence impart itself. Key parameters, such velocity change, duration, tension requirements, length, are discussed. Deflection effectiveness assessed different release strategies. It shown that typical changes order within time window decade.
